The Surface Physics Laboratory of the Charles University in Prague

The Surface Physics Laboratory is the biggest surface science group in the Czech Republic. Research focuses mainly to fundamental studies of reducible oxide and nano-alloy surface reactivity and model studies in catalysis. During last years the research is oriented towards studies of electrocatalysts for PEMFCs. Fuel cell test laboratory and advanced Near Ambient Pressure Photoelectron Spectrometer with in situ electrochemical cell will be presented.

The Josef Božek Research Centre based at the Czech Technical University in Prague has acquired high international reputation as the country's leading research body focused on automotive technology. The main focus of the Research Centre is research and development of spark ignition engines (gasoline, gas, alternative fuels) and diesel engines for cars and heavy-duty vehicles. Excursion will allow you to visit selected laboratories and to discuss with specialists involved in this interesting field of research.

ÚJV Řež, a. s. is a reputable, renowned scientific-research and engineering company dedicated to nuclear technologies and their application in various fields. A key field of UJV Rež’s interest is energy, where special attention is given to the development of long-term sustainable energy with minimum environmental impact. One of these activities is focusing on hydrogen technologies in energy and transportation, particularly high temperature processes (SOFC, SOEC), energy storage, hydrogen-based hybrid stand-alone systems and microgrids and their integration to the distribution network. The subject matter of excursion will be the Pilot unit of hydrogen energy storage, the Triple Hybrid Hydrogen Bus (TriHyBus) and also the Experimental nuclear reactor LVR-0 or LVR-15 for those who will be interested in.
